BAE Systems

A new 80,000 square foot office and manufacturing facility for BAE Systems is located on Old Madison Pike in Research Park West on 21 acres of land. Roughly 40,000 square feet are allocated for business occupancy and another 40,000 are designated as factory industrial F-1 moderate hazard occupancy. Construction is Type II per 2003 IBC. and consists of load bearing steel columns and tilt-up concrete panels, steel beams, open WFB steel joists, composite slab (second floor) and an insulated steel roof deck with a TPO roofing membrane. Fenestration and curtain walls were achieved using 2 1/2’” X 6” extruded aluminum curtain wall system and 1” insulated glazing. Aluminum shading devices are attached to the curtainwall system. Insulated metal panels are used above the glazing systems and at front entry canopy. The interior spaces consist of offices, conference rooms, accessory office spaces, laboratories, testing spaces, storage, and break room and fitness area. The site is fully landscaped and possesses approximately 350 parking spaces and an outdoor employee area.
